"The Hard Sell" : Taboo In Advertising
This ad caused a lot of frenzy in SoHo last week and has apparently been removed. It was funded by a Dallas based group called Life Always and was designed to point out the high abortion rate in the African-American community. Residents were outraged. Even the mother of the girl in the ad was pissed. This Dallas company apprarently didn't do their homework on what neighborhood to put this billboard in. Whether it should be put anywhere is already a question, but there is no debating that SoHo is not the right audience.
