"Sexpot of the Week" -- Rooney Mara

It's always refreshing when a director decides to go with a no-name actress in a film over a movie star. It brings a certain intrigue. The casting of Rooney Mara as the lead in next year's film adaptation of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" is no exception. The media and people in general have suddenly become very interested in her. When you beat out Scarlett Johanson, Ellen Page, and Natalie Portman for a role, you are bound to attract attention. Being that Mara's biggest role to date has been the most recent Nightmare on Elm Street flick, this is the kind of stuff movie fairy tales are made of.

What makes her taking on the part extra intriguing is the fact that this seemingly pretty girl next door will be playing a troubled computer hacker in a gritty plot. She doesn't quite have that vixen appeal yet, but here's to hoping the role will loosen her up and lend her that siren swagger.
