"Sexpot of the Week": Anya Ayoung-Chee

The finale of Project Runway aired last night and although I had noticed before that the winner Anya Ayoung-Chee was a cutie pie, being the winner actually made me interested in her background. Of course, things like winning a reality show prompts google searches. And behold, the damn girl is a beauty queen. Not an average run-of-the-mill beauty queen either. She was Miss Trinidad and Tobago and competed in the Miss Universe pageant in 2008. I haven't watched every episode of Project Runway and maybe this little fact was disclosed at some point on the show, but I thought it was interesting. Anyway, she never was portrayed as the sexpot, but after seeing her photos, she most certainly is.

"Sexpot of the Week": Jessica Simpson

Did you ever think years ago when watching Jessica Simpson on her reality show (chicken vs. fish and all the other catastrophes caught on camera) that she would eventually become one of the smartest business women in entertainment? She's in the news this week because she's pregnant, but she's certainly been in the spotlight off and on the last couple of years--mostly being blamed for ruining football seasons and for her battle with weight. In the end, as new news and new targets arise, all of this stuff is irrelevant. But she never will be. Because of her business ventures and a $100 million net worth, she will always be set while many of her peers will soon be broke and cast members on Celebrity Rehab. So I salute her. Oh yeah, and she is really smoking hot!

"Sexpot of the Week": Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is in the news today for getting kicked out of a community service program. Oh, Lindsay. But if you can get pass the fact she is always and only making news when it comes to being in trouble and/or on drugs, she really is smoking. And somehow during all her legal woes, she still somehow has time to shoot movies. She hasn't been in a hit lately, but if you look at her discography, she has been steadily working between rehab, stealing jewels, and being ousted in public places. Gotta love her mutli-tasking abilities. Oh, and she's a blonde now--as if this one really needs to have more fun.

"Sexpot of the Week": Leila Lopes

I'm not much of a pageant person, but I am obsessed, actually borderline OBSESSED, with Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes (Miss Angola). In my unhumble opinion, she is easily one of the most beautiful women I have seen in a long time. Miss Universe of course has the hottest contestants of all the pageants so, for sure, there were other women who would be considered more beautiful or at least as beautiful as she (I don't think so, but of course everyone has their favorites). But I love that she is African and that in a world not fascinated with black beauty that she came out on top. Love her.

"Sexpot of the Week": Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain was a suggestion for "Sexpot of the Week" via Twitter and after looking her up, I was only semi-amused. I thought she was cute and everything, but I wasn't that into it. I heard all the kudos she was getting for her work in The Help, but still was blah. Then I went to see the movie and I was impressed with her. I did become a fan and decided I like her better on-screen than in photos (although the above photos are pretty hot). And then I realized that's exactly what you are supposed to feel about an actress. She's not your typical screen siren dawning the cover of magazine after magazine (not yet anyway), but she is a sexy red-headed thing. She has 8 films that either have been or will be debuted in 2011 and 2012 so she will be around for a bit. I will stay tuned.

"Sexpot of the Week": Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana's "Columbiana" came out today. And although critics are not in love with the movie due to its typical plot and over-the-top action scenes, the reviews on Zoe in the role have been overall favorable. Starring in Avatar has, alas, made it possible for this 33-year-old hottie to star in her own films. And thankfully, they have progressed past being morphed into a blue character and we actually get to see her in the flesh.

"Sexpot of the Week": Jamie Chung

I watched "Sucker Punch" on DVD last night and couldn't remember where I had seen Jamie Chung before. Then after Googling her today, I realized I saw her on The Real World. And I remembered her being quite annoying. Very annoying actually. But I do give her props for turning her reality show stint into an acting/modeling career. Many people on reality tv try and fail at it so one has to repect the fact she has gotten work on both films and tv since being on the show in 2004. And I mean, as annoying as she may be, she's really hot. And we all know that compensates for a lot.

"Sexpot of the Week": Freida Pinto

Last week, I stated that I think Scarlett Johansson is the most beautiful woman in Hollywood. I want to renig on that statement because I actually think Freida Pinto is. She really is stunning. Being that it was her first gig, she hit the acting jackpot with her role in Slumdog Millionaire. Ever since, she has been featured in countless magazines because of her beauty alone. She has only worked on a few movies since Slumdog (probably because she lives in India and Hollywood isn't around the corner), but it seems like the tides are turning. She's starring in the upcoming Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which will no doubt be a blockbuster. And since blockbusters usually lead to more blockbusters, we may get lucky enough to see a lot more of her.

"Sexpot of the Week": Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson is in the news today for the same reason Hollywood starlets are usually in the news-couple rumor stuff. Nevermind that. I always rely on the news to refresh my memory on people I forget about. The fact I forgot about Scarlett is a little surprising because I happen to think she is THE most beautiful actress. And I love that she always has the girls out. She's very aware she's sexy and she doesn't make a fuss about playing it down. Somehow she hasn't been recognized as a "Sexpot of the Week" so here it is.

"Sexpot of the Week": Katy Perry

When you naturally look like a 50s pin-up, being smoking hot isn't the hardest of tasks. Katy Perry has done a great job at playing up this idea and creating a signature pop-star persona. In a music world filled with female stars like Beyonce (a lady but fierce), Lady Gaga (over-the-top and crazy), and Britney Spears (vixen and, well, also crazy), she's viewed as the fun, bubbly one. She is okay not being sexy at times ("Last Friday Night" video) and really gives you the feeling that she doesn't take herself too seriously, which is kinda admirable. As for the often poked-fun at fact that she used to be a gospel singer? Maybe it can be credited for God blessing her career and giving her the best boobs in the business.

"Sexpot of the Week": Beyonce

Beyonce is so obviously one of the sexiest women on the planet that she has probably been omitted from being "Sexpot of the Week" until now from simple oversight. Her new album, "4", dropped this week and she is everywhere to have reminded me. No female singer has accomplished what she has and no one really argues against the claim that she is in a league of her own. Even though she has been a part of our lives forever, she's only 29 so there is so much more to come. Nothing more really needs to be said about her--although a rant about her amazingness could be managed. I'll pass on that, but I had to include her.

"Sexpot of the Week": Anna Paquin

Blood does the body good. Ever since Anna Paquin has taken on the role of Sookie Stackhouse for the True Blood series, she has somehow gotten hotter and hotter as the show has progressed. With the return of the new season this weekend, she is being honored for this progressive hotness. It probably has something to do with the fact that the sexy men on the show get more and more fascinated with her so we are inclined to as well. Then the fact she bagged Bill in real life is the official stamp that she is one desirable mind-reading, gap-toothed (love it) vixen.

"Sexpot of the Week": Nicole Scherzinger

Ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has created quite a career for herself. As the lead singer for the group, her vocals were never amazing, but she had the moves and hot factor to keep our attention. Now that she's left the group and gone the solo route, it seems things keep getting better for her. Just recently, she got the job of a lifetime when it was announced that she will become a judge on X-Factor, America's version of one of the most popular shows in the world. At the expense of someone else yes (Cheryl Cole was fired from the gig), but hey it's a tough business. Gotta get in where you fit in. The American version is expected to be as popular as the international ones so we surely will be seeing much more from the small-waisted sexpot.

"Sexpot of the Week": Amber Rose

Amber Rose hasn't really done much to get all the attention she gets. She does model now, but I'm pretty sure she only started getting real opportunities after dating ex-boyfriend Kanye West. In actuality, all she is ever in the news for is in connection to what famous person she is dating at the time. But so what? She is undoubtedly one of the most stunning women in the limelight. She just doesn't look like other people. A blonde buzz cut? Come on. How many people can pull that off? Light eyes with brown skin. Lots of tits. Even more ass. And like most vixens, she has that "I don't give a fuck" appeal. She's definitely not going in the history books for doing anything special or great accomplishments, but for the present moment the media's fascination with her is warranted.
