"Bad (Not Bad Ass) Tattoo" : Bunny & Menstruation

Happy belated Easter. There isn't much analysis that can be done about a bunny on a flying bloody tampon, but if you somehow are talented enough to do so, feel free to leave some feedback. I'm gonna pass on coming up with anything witty for this one.

"The Hard Sell" : Taboo In Advertising

These ads from British tobacco company Hamlet Miniatures made defenders of dwarves very upset. The ads show dwarves finding joy in smoking their cigarettes while not being able to participate in activities people of normal height can. Hamlet Miniatures claims they got feedback from dwarves and the the dwarf community on how to take on the ads and that they are not making fun of them, but rather pointing out the regular challenges they face everyday. Despite that defense, the posters were ruled offensive and ordered not to be shown again. Hamlet Miniatures had no intentions of running them again anyway, they claimed, so apparently no harm, no foul.

"Monday Man Candy": Prince William

Prince William has always had a douchey frat boy look about him in my opinion. But it goes without saying that he has been a heartthrob and the catalyst of many a young woman's fantasies for years so I may be in the minority on this one. There are few things that make a man sexier in the eyes of women than money and power--the money he's got covered, the power increases with time (and deaths of course). Being that he is finally getting tied down this week and absolutely everyone is talking about it, it seems fair to make him the Man Candy of the Week. And he is much better looking that his pops so the English monarchy is at least evolving in eye candy appeal.

"Bad (Not Bad Ass) Tattoo" : Put Babby in a Corner

Neck tattoos are hard to pull off even if it's a good tattoo. Most tattoo folks agree that it's a place you should only get tattooed if you are very submerged in the culture. It's considered an "earned" tattoo spot after most other body parts have been tatted already. So if a bad tattoo is put on a neck, well now that's just a shame. Oh, and if it is bad and happens to be what appears to be mispelled, well now that's just a fucking sin.

News Spotlight: Lady CrayCray

Gaga is making people talk about her like usual. She debuted the album cover for "Born This Way" this past weekend and people aren't so impressed. It is very strange, but it never ceases to amaze me that people are shocked when she pulls something.

From Rolling Stone: "Late on Friday night, Lady Gaga tweeted the album cover for her eagerly anticipated new album Born This Way. It seems safe to say that the artwork, which depicts the singer's head and arms merged into the front of a motorcycle, was not anything like what anyone could have imagined. Though some fans assumed that the incredibly bold and silly cover was a joke, Gaga followed that tweet with another that showed her holding a printed copy of the cover, as if to prove that it was real.

Though the response from Gaga's audience has been fairly negative so far, with several fans and detractors rushing to create parody images over the weekend, the badass biker look might make more sense when the album arrives in stores. As Rolling Stone reported in February, a few of the songs confirmed for the record lean hard on huge guitar riffs and heavy metal bluster. This cover may be Gaga's way of letting her fans know that she's embracing the most defiant aspects of rock stardom on this new disc."

"Dirty Joke" : No Pain, No Gain

A man took his pregnant wife to the hospital. The doctor looked her over and told them it would be a rather difficult delivery. He offered to let the couple try an experimental procedure. The woman would be connected to a machine that would transfer part of the pain to the father of the baby, thus reducing her own. The man quickly agreed. The doctor warned him, though, that there was a slight bug in the machine that caused it to amplify the pain sent to the father by ten times, and if the pain became too much for him to bear to let the doctor know.

The doctor turned on the machine and watched the man. The man said he felt absolutely fine and he could take more. The doctor turned the dial up to 40, 60, 80, and finally 100% of the pain, times ten. The woman delivered the baby painlessly and the doctor stared at the man, astonished at how he could not even flinch with that much pain brought upon him.

The couple took the new baby home. There, on the front step, the mailman lay dead.

"Bad (Not Bad Ass) Tattoo" : ???

Easily one of the ugliest tattoos I have ever seen in my entire life. Usually, I lend some kind of analysis on the tattoos featured on here but I really have no words. I have no idea what's going on here.

"The Hard Sell" : Taboo In Advertising

This 2007 Tom Ford ad is an example of taking "sex sells" so far that it's kinda comical. What better way to sell something to straight men than putting the object dead smack in the vicinity of a woman's vagina? After receiving complaints about the ad, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), ruled in favor of Ford. The ad was published in GQ magazine and the ASA cited that even though the ad is provocative, it is in line with content of the magazine it appeared in and therefore is not likely to cause offence to readers. Other fashion companies have certainly pushed much further in the years since this ad was published so the shock value is pretty limited.

News Spotlight: F Bombs on Broadway

Chris Rock's "The Motherf**ker with the Hat" debuted on Broadway last night. It seems only fitting to give a little shout out to any play that uses a curse word in the title. And being that the play is centered around Alcoholics Anonymous, sex addiction, and of course a lot of swearing, it sounds like my kinda show.

"Sexpot of the Week" : Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has grown on me. When she first exploded on the music scene with her "Black Barbie" persona, it seemed a bit much. She seemed to be a media whore chasing Lady Gaga's over-the-topness. But as time passed and the more people's songs she appeared on, the less forced it seemed. And love her or hate her, she is the only female rapper in years that has sold a lot of records and made a helluva living. If you've witnessed her lyrical skill, you may be aware that she actually deserves it. As for her being sexy, she's not the first female rapper to play the sexy card--but she has added her own colorfulness to it. The most lovable part of her "sexy" is that she spends most of the time scowling, making crazy faces, and lending attention to her self-diagnosed multiple personalities.
